Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about editing ZPL in the browser.

What does the ZPL editor give me over a plain text editor?
Three things: ZPL-aware syntax highlighting so commands, parameters, and field data are visually distinct; command hints for ZPL II instructions as you type; and a live preview pane that renders the label as you edit — so you see the effect of every change without round-tripping to a printer.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The editor runs entirely in your browser as part of the LabelZoom web app. Open it, paste or write ZPL, and preview instantly. Your work stays in the browser session.
Can I convert my edited label to PDF or PNG?
Yes — the editor is wired into the same conversion engine as the rest of LabelZoom. When your label looks right, export it as PDF or PNG directly, or copy the ZPL back into your WMS or application.
Is there a visual (drag-and-drop) way to build labels instead?
Yes. If you'd rather not write ZPL at all, the LabelZoom Label Designer is a full visual editor: drag barcodes, text, and images onto a canvas and it generates the ZPL for you — including exports for Blue Yonder (JDA/RedPrairie) WMS deployments.
