CPCL to PDF

Convert Zebra CPCL jobs to PDF. Paste what your app sends to a QLn, ZQ or iMZ mobile printer and get each delivery ticket, receipt or label as a true-size PDF page you can attach to an order, archive or print on an office printer. LabelZoom reads the CPCL itself, so each page takes the size its session declares.

Just checking a job? Use the CPCL viewer. Need it for a desktop Zebra? CPCL to ZPL. Other languages: TSPL, EPL, ZPL.

Preview: LabelZoom’s CPCL rendering is the newest addition to our engine and still improving. Most jobs come out right, but text widths and some fonts may not match your printer exactly. If a page doesn’t look right, let us know — reports go straight into what we fix next.

On-screen barcodes: A barcode that won’t scan off your screen isn’t necessarily wrong. Browser PDF viewers redraw the page at whatever zoom fits the window, and that rounding thickens or drops the hairline bars a scanner needs. The PDF keeps the exact geometry underneath — print it, or zoom in first, and the barcodes scan normally.

How to convert CPCL to PDF

  1. 1

Copy the CPCL your mobile app or WMS sends to the printer, starting at the ! header line, then paste it above or upload the file.

  2. 2

Leave the label size on Auto-detect to use the size each session declares. The density only sets how sharp the page is.

  3. 3

Click Quick Preview, check the result, and download the PDF.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about converting Zebra CPCL jobs to PDF.

Why turn a CPCL job into a PDF?
Mobile printers print the paperwork that leaves with a driver: delivery tickets, invoices, route receipts and shelf labels. As a PDF, the same document can be attached to the order, archived for an audit, or emailed to a customer who lost their copy. It is also a quick way to proof a template change before it ships to a fleet of handhelds.
How big is each PDF page?
A CPCL session declares its own size. The width comes from PAGE-WIDTH (or PW), and the height is the fourth number of the ! header line, in the session's units. Receipts often declare a generous height, and the page keeps it, as the printer would feed it. Pick a label size above to override both, or leave it on Auto-detect; a session without PAGE-WIDTH is as wide as its content.
Does every label in the job come out?
Yes. Each session that ends in PRINT becomes its own page, so a job that prints a ticket and then a receipt gives you two pages. A session closed with ABORT is discarded, as the printer discards it, and a job that only changes printer settings produces no pages; the converter says so instead of returning a blank sheet.
Which commands end up on the page?
Text from TEXT or T, including the rotated T90, T180 and T270 forms, in resident fonts 0 to 7 with SETMAG, CENTER and RIGHT justification, ML multi-line blocks and CONCAT. Barcodes from BARCODE and VBARCODE: Code 128, UCC/EAN-128, Code 39, Code 93, UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-8, EAN-13, Interleaved 2 of 5, Codabar and MSI, plus QR codes, PDF417, MaxiCode and Aztec. Boxes, lines, INVERSE-LINE areas and EG or CG graphics are drawn too. PCX images aren't drawn yet.
