CPCL ViewerPreview

View Zebra CPCL labels online. Paste the job your app sends to a QLn, ZQ or iMZ mobile printer — the ! 0 200 200 session header, TEXT fields, BARCODE lines and BOX outlines — and see the delivery ticket, receipt or shelf label it prints, without pairing a printer or burning through a roll.

Arguments separated by commas? That's TSPL: use the TSPL viewer. Caret commands like ^XA? Use the ZPL viewer. Also available: EPL and DPL viewers.

Preview: LabelZoom’s CPCL rendering is the newest addition to our engine and still improving. Most labels come out right, but text widths and some fonts may not match your printer exactly. If a label doesn’t look right, let us know — reports go straight into what we fix next.

How to view a CPCL label online

  1. 1

Capture the job: log what your mobile app sends over Bluetooth or USB, or copy the template your software fills in.

  2. 2

Paste it above or upload the file. The header already says whether the job was written for a 203 or 300 dpi printer, so the density setting only changes how sharp the preview is.

  3. 3

Click Quick Preview. Each session that ends in PRINT becomes its own label, sized from its PAGE-WIDTH and the height in its header, and you can save any of them as PNG or PDF.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about viewing Zebra CPCL labels with LabelZoom.

What is CPCL?
CPCL is the native command language of Zebra's mobile printers: the QLn, ZQ, iMZ and RW series, and the Comtec printers the language started on. A CPCL job is one or more sessions. Each opens with a line such as ! 0 200 200 210 1 (offset, horizontal and vertical resolution, label height, copies), lists fields like TEXT 4 0 30 40 Hello and BOX 10 10 200 100 1, and ends with PRINT.
Is CPCL the same as ZPL?
No. Many Zebra mobile printers accept both, but they are different languages. ZPL commands start with a caret (^FO, ^FD) and a label sits between ^XA and ^XZ; CPCL commands are plain words with space-separated numbers, and a label sits between a ! header and PRINT. If your job starts with ^XA, use the ZPL viewer.
Why did the TSPL viewer reject my label?
CPCL and TSPL share command names such as TEXT, BOX, BAR and PRINT, so the two are easy to mix up. TSPL separates arguments with commas (TEXT 100,100,"3",0,1,1,"Hello") and CPCL with spaces (TEXT 4 0 100 100 Hello). A job with a ! 0 200 200 header line is CPCL, and this is the viewer for it.
What doesn't the viewer show yet?
PCX images, formats stored on the printer with ! DF and recalled with ! UF, and text printed in line-print mode with ! U1 are skipped. SETBOLD and SETSP don't change the preview. The resident fonts 0 to 7 are drawn with substitute typefaces, so text can run a little wider or narrower than on the printer.
